Flipp Dinero Talks Writing ‘Leave Me Alone’: “In Order To Be An Artist, You Have To Be Emotional”

It’s always refreshing to hear an artist talk about taking time to produce music. Too often, artists have dissected the science of creating a song and going ‘viral’, finding short cuts around creativity. Not every artist cuts the corners, though.
Epic Records artist, Flipp Dinero, stopped by Baltimore’s 92Q to talk with BrianCXVI about his song writing techniques, recent success of his Billboard Top 100 single ‘Leave Me Alone’, family, and spirituality. “I’m just releasing how I feel. I also did poetry as well, so when that beat came on, I was just expressing how I feel,” Dinero said when asked about writing “Leave Me Alone”.
Timeless music carries a tone of emotion that is able to withstand generations. Having to record such intimate moments can be a vulnerable (and scary) time for many artists but, it served as no issue for Dinero. “I always was a very emotional person. In order to be an artist, you have to be emotional,” he said. Citing his relationship with God as an anchor to his creative courage, Dinero continued to explain that the pressures of songwriting don’t bother him.
Watch the interview from 92Q below and see if you can get connected with Flipp Dinero and his passion.
