Popular toy company Hasbro has officially purchased Death Row Records. The acquisition was official today (Dec. 30).
Hasbro purchased Entertainment One, the parent company to Death Row Records and other companies under its umbrella. Entertainment One is arguably the biggest independent record label in the industry. The company brought in nearly $30 million in 2019 revenue.
Death Row Records was forced to file bankruptcy in 2006 and Entertainment One took over.
Hasbro CEO Brian Goldner spoke about the purchase, “the acquisition of eOne adds beloved story-led global family brands that deliver strong operating returns to Hasbro’s portfolio and provides a pipeline of new brand creation driven by family-oriented storytelling.”
