Ontario, CA –
Canadians are on high alert after emergency nuclear alerts were falsely sent to residents right outside of Toronto.
Early Sunday (Jan. 12) morning, Canadian residents were awakened with text alerts about a nuclear threat. The Ontario Power Generation has issued an apology for the incident. “The alert was issued in error to the public during a routine training exercise,” Ontario’s Solicitor-General Sylvia Jones said in a statement. “The government of Ontario sincerely apologizes for raising public concern and has begun a full investigation to determine how this error happened.”
