Washington, DC –
After weeks of delay, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi will send the articles of impeachment to the senate tomorrow.
Democratic Caucus Chair of the House, Hakeem Jefferies has shared that Pelosi will transmit articles of impeachment “to the Senate at some point tomorrow.” Pelosi has indicated that impeachment managers will be selected tomorrow.
“The American people deserve the truth, and the Constitution demands a trial. The House will now proceed with a vote on transmitting the articles of impeachment and naming impeachment managers on Wednesday, January 15,” Pelosi said in a statement.
As the impeachment continues to unfold, we are weeks away from the president’s State of the Union address. A White House official has indicated that the president has no plans to push back the address.
Since the house voted to impeach the president in December, a lot has happened. Our country experienced a highly active beginning of the year including a stand off with Iran. Headlines have been pouring in and every day provides another concern for American citizens; even the ones that work on Capitol Hill.
They’re citizens too.
