The late Nipsey Hussle will be honored at the Grammys this weekend.
YG, Meek Mill, Roddy Ricch, DJ Khaled, Kirk Franklin, and John Legend will perform the tribute.Executive producer of the Grammys, Ken Ehrlich spoke about the tribute in a statement:
“An activist, entrepreneur and rapper, Nipsey Hussle had a lasting impact on not just his community, but also the culture at large. There is no denying the influence he had and his legacy will be felt for generations to come. We are honored to bring together this amazing group of artists to celebrate Nipsey’s life and pay tribute to his many contributions to music. It’s sure to be a memorable performance.”
Hussle is nominated posthumously for multiple awards. He’s nominated for ‘Best Rap Performance’ and ‘Best Rap Song’ for “Racks In the Middle” featuring Roddy Ricch. His “Higher” collaboration with DJ Khaled and John Legend is nominated for ‘Best Rap/Sung Performance’.
The 62nd Annual Grammy Awards is this Sunday, January 26th from the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
