 Coronavirus Hits More Than 6,000 Cases Worldwide: Here’s What We Know

Baltimore, MD-

The deadly coronavirus has reached more than 6,000 cases worldwide. Officials are still confident in a low threat here in the states.

132 people have died from the disease and over 6,000 cases have been confirmed in the virus’ origin country, China. Airports across America have increased health screening precautions and so far, only 5 cases have been confirmed in the U.S.

CNN reports that the CDC has raised its travel restrictions to China to its highest level. Here’s some information of known cases across the country, courtesy of CNN:

Australia is fighting for the world.

A lab in Australia has grown their own concentrated version of the virus using a patient’s sample. Having the ability to grow the virus gives officials better hopes of discovering a cure. The process has officials excited.

“We are proud to have grown the virus in such a short space of time,” Mike Catton, Director of Victorian Infectious Diseases Laboratory stated.
