Washington, DC –
Senate members voted to acquit President Trump of impeachment charges against him.
After two quick votes Wednesday (Feb. 5), President Trump has been acquitted of impeachment charges. He was charged with “abuse of power”, and “obstruction of congress”.
52-48 was the vote on article I and 53-47 was the vote on article II.
All but Romney.
Most expected this outcome as many house members voted accorded to party lines. The only one to cross party lines was Mitt Romney who was the only republican to vote in favor of conviction. “I knew from the outset that being tasked with judging the president, the leader of my own party, would be the most difficult decision I have ever faced,” he said. “I was not wrong.”
