BALTIMORE, MD –
According to CNBC, the secret to success is who you marry.
After seeing the article a million times, I thought it was my turn to share some views. I think a few things are important to note though.
We don’t need a marriage to be successful. Also, we shouldn’t marry selfishly with the idea of just our success. Keep in mind, I have no ring on my finger so feel free to toss this in the bin. Make sure you yell “KOBE” too.
But, I’m a student of the school of thought that we’re a team. Teamwork has always been a soothing feeling and I think that’s why I find myself in leadership positions. Even when I evade them. The same holds true for my relationships and hopefully, a future marriage. We’re in this together.
I don’t think the article was saying that we should marry someone supportive so that we can be successful. Try looking at it as a reminder that supportive spouses can help us be successful. Oh, more importantly it’s reminding us to be supportive spouses.
Also, let’s define support. You’d be surprised to know that I just began understanding what support truly is. Newsflash, I’m about to be 30.
Better late than never. Let’s talk supportive spouses on episode 103.
