BOSTON, MA –
Earlier today (Mar. 17), future Hall of Famer Tom Brady announced that he will leave New England.
Brady made the announcement on his Instagram. He ended his post with a warm appreciation for the New England memories:
“Although my football journey will take play elsewhere, I appreciate everything that we have achieved and am grateful for our incredible TEAM accomplishments. I have been privileged to have the opportunity to know each and everyone of you, and to have the memories we’ve created together.”
That’s what I can’t shake.
Most of my conscious life, I’ve seen Tom Brady as Patriot. The remarkable plays that he was able to make coupled with the remarkable things that New England was able to accomplish; those memories had inspired me. They will continue to inspire me but it is sad to know that they are over.
New England has had a powerful organization for decades. The tide will certainly change as a result of losing Brady. Of course, Belichick is a talented play caller and the team could still succeed under his command. However, it will certainly be tough for those moments to be as inspiring as they used to be.
Here’s to wishing Tom Brady all the best on his future endeavors.
