WASHINGTON, DC –
Due to coronavirus, the federal tax deadline has been pushed back to July 15th.
“We are moving Tax Day from April 15 to July 15,” Secretary Steven Mnuchin tweeted. “All taxpayers and businesses will have this additional time to file and make payments without interest or penalties.” The announcement was also made during the coronavirus task force presser.
In both announcements the two men encouraged Americans expecting refunds to file now. Basically, the July 15th date is literally the deadline. They’re still operating and able to get your refund.
-right now, at least.
