NEW YORK, NY –
Jay Z and Rihanna are the latest celebrities to donate to coronavirus damage.
Each story makes me smile harder than the one before. I love to see all of the acts of humility that celebrities and companies are showing. Tuesday (March 31), Jay Z and Rihanna announced that their funds will be donating money to coronavirus relief. Rihanna’s “Clara Lionel Foundation” first offered $1 million. Jay Z’s “Shawn Carter Foundation” then matched the donation.
According to XXL, Rihanna and Jay hopes to help “undocumented workers, the incarcerated, homeless and elderly populations, and children of frontline healthcare workers”.
Jay Z’s mother shared in the release, “In times of crisis it is imperative that we come together as one community to ensure that everyone, especially the most vulnerable, has access to critical needs: shelter, health, nutrition and education,” she offers in a statement. “The only way to get through this pandemic is with love and action.”
Gloria Carter is the co-founder of the Shawn Carter Foundation.
Rihanna doing a lot of good.
Well, truthfully both artists have been doing a lot of good.
But Rihanna’s foundation literally just committed to sending $5 million in grants for COVID-19 relief. Those funds are to help the U.S, Caribbean, and South Africa. While we have yet to get some new music from Rihanna, certainly love her philanthropic efforts.
Both artists are using their powers for the good of others. We couldn’t be more thankful for their work.
