Former First Lady Michelle Obama has another documentary coming to Netflix.
This one follows her along her nationwide Becoming memoir tour. It’s directed by Nadia Hallgren and features footage from each of the 36 cities she toured. The documentary is set to hit Netflix on May 6th but to be honest, I cannot wait.
“It takes time to process your life and figure out what it all means,” Michelle says in the trailer. With a trailer that is this draped in inspiration, we can only imagine what’s in store for the documentary. We get a taste of Michelle’s humility that we love so much but it feels different. It feels almost as if this is her in some of her rawest moments.
Human connection is valuable.
Honestly, I think that’s one of the things that Michelle and her family were robbed of by politics. Given that this tour took place just a few years removed from the White House, it feels like Becoming reminded her of the powers of human connection.
When it airs next week, I’ll be sure to watch it from that lens. I can just imagine how warm it is.
