Dolby Vision Gaming Officially Releases For XBOX Series X|S

Endagadget/XBOX

After months (and probably years) of testing, Dolby Vision has officially released on XBOX Series X|S.

We’ve been a part of testing. Approved.

Personally, I downloaded the Dolby Vision update back in May as part of the XBOX Insider program. DV gives our gaming experience even more life, boasting vibrant colors of all shades. When playing our sports favorites like NBA 2K and Madden, it made us feel like we were in the arena (not so much the broadcast. Wish that weren’t so). It gave us a breathtaking view of the world while playing Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020.

Light crashing early but this may be why.

It did give us a few issues during earlier testing. The DV system would crash during game play and it caused issues while streaming. I believe that’s because only some games are built to support it.

Dolby Vision supports “more than 100 next-gen HDR titles optimized for Series X|S” that are “available now or coming soon,” Microsoft said Tuesday in an Xbox Wire post

As of today, here are the games on the marketplace currently supporting Dolby Vision and Atmos sound:

  • Borderlands 3
  • Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War
  • Dirt 5
  • F1 2021
  • Gears 5
  • Immortals Fenyx Rising
  • Metro Exodus
  • Microsoft Flight Simulator
  • Psychonauts 2
